THE RECYCLED RAIN PROJECT
CONCEPT + BRANDING + COPY + DESIGN + PHOTOGRAPHY
THE RECYCLED RAIN PROJECT IS A PNW BASED INVITATIONAL ART SHOW CREATING ORIGINAL WORKS USING RAINWATER TO RAISE AWARENESS OF WATER ISSUES.
Each spring since 2011, a group of Portland artists come together to create original works with collected rainwater. Artists are selected by a jury of artists and people from the local art community. The whole process is documented – from water collection to completion of artworks – as the artists share their stories via social media. This all leads up to the big event, which takes place the first Saturday in June. A portion of the sale of all works are donated to a water-based non-profit voted upon by artists.
something clever's sara sjol is the founder of the non-profit and has done its branding and design since the shows inception. this labor of love involves branding that updates with each show cycle.
EVERY cycle each cycle has its own look. once the brand design is established it is carried throughout the entirety of the shows print materials. This includes posters, postcards and an annual show book. something clever also does all photography and copywriting.
